When researching next-generation antioxidants, we discovered Ginsenoside Compound K, an active metabolite and a key bioactive component of Panax ginseng. Studies have shown that it helps promote collagen synthesis and fights comprehensive signs of aging, including dryness, hyperpigmentation, UV-induced skin damage, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity and firmness. But due to its extremely low solubility in water, Ginsenoside Compound K has been prevented from being effectively used in skincare formulations – until now.
We were granted patent in South Korea on our water-solubilized form of Ginsenoside Compound K and our method of water-solubilizing Compound K. We showed through a third-party in-vitro study that Ginsenoside Compound K exhibits as high antioxidant power as Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) when it is water-solubilized at a concentration of 750ppm. With our patented Solubilization Technology, we are able to water-solubilize Ginsenoside Compound K at a concentration of 400,000ppm.
How does Ginsenoside Compound K compare against one of the world’s most well-known antioxidants, Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid)? A third-party in-vitro study (DPPH assay) showed that our patented form of Ginsenoside Compound K exhibits as strong antioxidant power as Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) at the concentration of 750ppm. The results also indicated that at a higher concentration, Ginsenoside Compound K’s antioxidant power can potentially exceed the maximum antioxidant power of Vitamin C.
